Every day we do research. Every day we have questions and seek information that would help us solve them.
e.g. Which Lecturer is the best Action Research lecturer? This is a research question the answer to which you can discover in many different ways.

Basically the difference between Quantitative and Qualitative depends on two main things:
1. In Qualitative you know what you are looking for when you find it. In Quantitative - before you find it you know what you are looking for and you may or may not find it. e.g
If I am doing research on practicum I can say that Practicum has no influence on Teacher Performance. Then I can set out to see if this is so. This is Quantitative regardless of the methodology or design used. But I can also say "What influence does practicum have on Teacher performance".
